Institute of Nuclear Medical Physics successfully completed the mid-term defenses of doctoral dissertations for the fall of 2025


    On December 23, 2025, the Institute of Nuclear Medical Physics held its 2025 Autumn Doctoral Dissertation Mid-term Defense Meeting in Conference Room 1202, East Building, Science and Technology Experiment Building, West Campus, University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). The defense committee members included Professor Miao Qingqing, Associate Professor Peng Lei, and Specially Appointed Researcher Hu Guojun from the School of Nuclear Science and Technology, USTC; Professor Guo Jingnan from the School of Earth and Space Sciences, USTC; and Professor Xu Xie from the Institute. Wei Meitong served as the defense secretary.


    Kebede Shogile Rikitu’s doctoral mid-term defense topic was "Method of Monte Carlo Proton, Neutron and Photons Dose Calculation for Chinese on the Moon for Radiation Protection"; and Muhammad Zeeshan's doctoral mid-term defense topic was "Dosimetric and radiobiological analysis of low-kV X-ray used for superficial therapy".


    The successful completion of this mid-term defense has further promoted the team's research work in areas such as Monte Carlo computational methods, Radiation protection, Superficial therapy, and Radiobiological analysis.
